Security

We consider keeping your personal information secure and private an important part of our job. Zecco.com, Zecco Trading, and our clearing firm Penson Worldwide all work together to insure the integrity of your information. We are also continually improving our security policies and processes to stay ahead of emerging technology threats.

Several layers of security protect your information:

  1. Authentication – two layers of password sign-ons protect your trading account from unauthorized transactions. We prompt you to create usernames and passwords that are hard to guess.  Repeated unsuccessful attempts to log-in prompt us to reset your password, making “brute-force” cracking attempts fruitless. If this happens to you by accident, just follow the instructions for the “Forgot your password?” on the login page.
  2. Web Site Security – We use 128-bit Secure Socket Layer encryption, the strongest generally available web security. We also use encrypted cookies to shield your information as it is passed between your browser and our servers. Session timeout automatically logs you off after a period of inactivity. State-of-the art firewall and perimeter communication security initiatives help prevent unauthorized disclosure at every level of our software architecture.
  3. Email Security – We have comprehensive monitoring and enforcement policies to combat “phishing” and other email scams which use the Zecco brand as cover for fraudulent or suspicious activity.
  4. Activity monitoring – Our experienced staff constantly monitor transactions for unusual or inconsistent behavior that might point to fraud.
  5. Employee Oversight – Close oversight, access control, and automated monitoring help to insure that staff are on alert to any breaches of our information security and suspicious activity.
  6. Employee Training – All Zecco Trading Employees are trained extensively in policies and procedures to safeguard your information.

You are the most important link in the chain of security. Your role in keeping your information safe can’t be overstated. Please take time to review the following suggestions.

  1. Please keep your password safe. Do not write it on a Post-it and stick it to your monitor. You should change your password frequently. If you think your password has been compromised, change it immediately and contact us.
  2. Practice good information hygiene. Keep your operating system, anti-virus, and firewall software up-to-date. Please use the latest anti-spyware and anti-mailware software as well. Check everything you download from the internet for viruses including email, software, updates, plug-ins, widgets, and controls.
  3. Log Off your account. As soon as you are done, log off.
  4. Read your email – Most significant activities that you will be perform on Zecco.com and Zecco Trading will generate an email alert to you to confirm the action. Please read these. If you get a confirmation for something you didn’t do, contact us immediately and change your password.
