    Thank you for investing in Southwest, The captain has turned on the bail out light. Please calmly login to your trading account and find any available exit.

    All investors waiting at the gates please find another airline as we have found mismanagement at the highest level please short as soon as possible.

    Little joke above but this is really bad news. I can see competitors going up and Southwest to bottom out.

    I'm not sure if I would buy this at a low.


    It's $12.50 now. Friday I think it's gunna hit $7.00 and drop the next couple weeks. Maybe a low of $4.00 to $5.00

    I just read about this on the news.

    I agree it's bad, but I don't know if will be a killer.  I bet most people don't even remember Alaska Airlines Flight 261, where inadequate maintenance was also a big factor in the crash and death of 88 people. In fact, the FAA's strictness here might even partially influenced by that.

    My heart is broken, Southwest WAS my favorite airline in terms of the business aspect. Now I'm lost.

    Wow, I am so surprised it didn't tank Today... I guess everyone's so focused on the mortage mess, Jobs news that any other company specific news doesn't matter.

    I still feel this stock is going to tumble. It's going to get atleast 2 weeks of bad news. FAA is going to have to answer to congress and probably SW Air. The SW PR machine is reving up to hide the issue. I guess time will tell.

    I need a boost in my Jet Blue stocks :) Rake them over the coals Congress!!!!

    The insider trades do not help at all.

    As for the ADs, I can give a little info on this as I am currently a student studying to become a professional pilot and aviation management. From my understanding Southwest's whole fleet is 737s (as a business aspect this helps cut costs, labor, parts, training, ect). Now an AD is ofcourse manditory, I can see somehow it got pushed in the wrong box, or whatnot, but for it not to have been found for 3.5 years is no laughing matter. Somewhere along the line someone messed up BIG time.

    My other thought is... it took the FAA 3.5 years to notice this... that's not good at all either.
