Pres. Debate #2 - the aftermath...

    Reply Quote

I believe McCain blew it, look for Obama as Pres.

    (with Dem Senate & House)

On that note, which sectors and industries do we need to be gearing up for?
    (getting positions in?)

Just goes to show how out of touch I am with the way others brains are wired?

OK, probably should also then ask for sectors and industries for a Pres. McCain...

The way in which mccain conducted himself i felt was a lot less scripted. Obama tonight seemed to forget the rules and talk after mccain to try and turn it inhis favor. WIth that in mind he also seemedto use the message of change way too much without really explainig in detail how exactly he would do it. Small businesses do fall into the higher taxed portion of his new plan and i would thik obama should have smartly replied that small businesses wouldn't be taxed like that at all. he didnt say anything of the sort and that is what bothered me.

Again, please refrain from political views & commentary on an investing site.

And stick to the original topic/Q's being asked.

Chris, I think that Mccain conducted himself in a very childish manner. ".. and that one over there".  However, to answer the original question. I think that if Mccain wins anything to do with nuclear energy will be good to watch.  Mccain is pretty big into nuclear power, as am I.  Obama, and thing alternative - nuclear aside.  Although Obama did mention nuclear tonight I dont think he would be quick to support it in anyway.  I like natural gas with Obama.

The Fallout from the last 2 weeks on the market will go well beyond who gets in the white house.
Neither person has the knowledge to deal with the scope of situation we are in..
Leading to the last question of the debate
.. What do you do not know... If either one of them would of said,
there is a whole lot of things I do not know, But I intend surround myself with people who are willing
to give me facts on any given situation. Then I will use my judgement as a leader to come to a positive
solution that will benefit the American People as a whole.. That would of let me know that that person
has the wisdom to run this county..
I for one will be looking for business that have strong cash balance sheets and good leadership.

You must have been watching FOX (Faux) News, cause the polls on CNN and CBS gave the win to Obama.  Those are the 2 big polls I have seen tonight, I am sure there will be more tommorrow.  Obama is ahead (47% to 40%) of McCain in the national polls as of right now anyway.  And Obama is leading is in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada, Wisconsin, Florida, Iowa, New Hampshire, Missouri, Virginia, and New Mexico currently. To be fair, McCain is leading in the battleground states of North Carolina, Indiana, Georgia, Alaska and Ohio currently.

As far as investing goes for the presidential race, I am putting money into solar and alternative energy stocks.  I also think infrastructure will be bigger during an Obama administration.  And Technology.  I think every industry will benefit in the future from a Democrat in the white house or a firming up of the majority on capitol hill.

I take all news stations words with a grain of salt.. if you havent noticed themajority of tv stations are pro democrat. Its always beenthat way and will always be that way. actors and actresses are mostly democrats and i believe that is because they needed that helpinghand early in their careers. you cant ever take a medium for news at its words as it is ALWAYS slanted. The bigger question is which would be good for our country a person out to transform american minds into a into one with a "pump my chest" mentality or someone who wants to keep the budget balanced during a recession? I simply want a country that has a sense of personal responsibility. there will always be people out there that should get help from the government but those should be the minority of citizens of the usa... the last thing we need is to open up the floodgates.

Haha. Well I don't really understand what your perceived bias has to do with national or state polls.  You cannot skew hard poll numbers.  And the question is who would be better for our country.  Seems like at the moment people think it will be Obama.  People seem to trust him more when it comes to the economy more at the moment.  You speak of keeping a balanced budget also, which party had surpluses while in office in the recent past...... (hint: it starts with a D)
