    Portfolio performance since inception, annualized after 12 months

    I cannot figure out the % gain figure in the profile page.  Holding the mouse over it says:

    Portfolio performance since inception, annualized after 12 months

    So does this mean it is:
    % gain since the day I joined
    % gain over the last 12 months
    % gain this year (like, a fixed 12-month)

    It seems to bounce around a lot more than my profits do.  I haven't 'lost' money yet, but the percentage has gone down recently.  It's on quite a delay to move, too.

    I was wondering about the same thing. It seems that there are a bunch of groups specifically for people who earn a certain % in profits (20% and 70% I think) but their % do change a lot more than they should if it was an average "profit" over the course of 12 months...

    Hey guys -

    The performance metrics used in ZeccoShare right now reflect you total return starting from the time your account at Zecco was opened. 

    If your account has been open less than 12 months, we show the total return since inception.  If your account has been open for longer than 12 months, we annualize the figure - that is, take your total performance and divide by the number of years it's been open.
