    Middle East/Arabian/Lebanese ETFs or Closed-End Funds

    I am looking for an investment that is heavily concentrated in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, etc.  Does anybody know of any ETFs or Closed-End Funds that focus on the Middle East.  I used ETFConnect.com and was able to find SPDR S&P Emerging Middle East & Africa (GAF), but this ETF is limited in Middle Eastern Country exposure.  It is comprised of too few middle eastern equities while 60% of the ETF invests in South Africa.  I think that these countries have great risk/reward potential as a result of the war in Iraq and the changes that are taking place over there.  Thanks.

    Few companies will invest in places like Iran.  Too much political/shareholder controversy over the Tehran government.  You can check out TRAMX.  It focuses on Africa and Middle East.  However I do believe most of their holdings are based in South Africa and Israel.

    Yep, I still think you get the diversification, but the problem is that South Africa and Israel are going to have a higher level of correlation to the developed world than these countries.

    While those smaller countries will provide more diversification, they are also very unstable and thus the returns will be highly volatile. While you may surely get some winners (i.e. South Korea), you are surely going to get a lot of losers. Good luck and hope it works out.
