    I just closed out a long Washington Mutual trade.  Rode it from $3.51 to $5.92, YEEEEHAAAWW.

    Unfortunately I was only willing to risk 5% of my capital on WM.  Oh well, it was still my best trade %-gain-wise to date.  I got out today though, not comfortable holding a financial over the weekend.  Friday after market close is when they like to announce disasterous collapses.

     

    Good move!!!  Also it hit the resistance zone today, and there were several gaps this week.

    I think 24 is the rock bottom price for MSFT.  Since you shorted it at 25.6, you probably don't gain much.  At this point, all the bad news had already priced in, any good news will easily shoot it above 27.

    Went ahead and made a move. Shorted MSFT at $25.6 with a Stop Loss cover at $27.3.

    I Personaly don't short stocks, be careful. It's more trickier. I don't like shorting because it has an unlimited downside potential, with a limited upside potential. Also, did you know you have to pay the dividend? I think MSFTs dividend pays out in August. It's probably going to be 11c a share. I have bought Short ETFs though, and have shorted commodities. I hope the trade works out for you.

    Also, there's that old saying...... sell on the rumor of bad news, buy on the reporting of bad news. It usually pans out, that by the time the bad news is reported, it has already been discounted in the price. And MSFT only missed analyst estimates by 1c.

     

    It may be time to buy soon, instead of shorting.
