I got 40 shares at six. not that i plan on selling anytime soon
but sure do hope that they can turn around and do something good.
I think they should focus(pun intended) on hybrid. how about a hot classic

I'm more curious about what's going to happen with Tata and what they bought.  I don't have much confidence in the American auto industry - but this seems interesting.  Could Tata use this to help enter the US market - maybe with the Nano?

Only if you want to start seeing buy one Jaguar and get a free Tata Nano ad's on TV.  You couldn't even sell a <$2500 on a car lot that has >$2500 options and $50k cars.

You don't really want high school / college clientele mixing amongst the executive "high class" clientele that are the focus of Jaguar and LR.

Now I hate to burst your bubble, but the Tata Nano will never see the streets of the United States.  First let me say, I think the Nano is a great idea, and it will be Great! for India, and other developing nations.

The reasons it will never come to USA.  Its MPG are good, but overall performance is lacking (would be expected right).  33 HP, Max Speed of 50 MPH? Made from welded steel components. Its TINY, Americans are generally larger people than Indian people.  In India, if you are lucky enough to have a car, its small.  In America, if you have a car.. its likely large (in comparison to the NANO).  So, if it went on sale here. You have a 1000lb car pull out of a Ford F150 doing 60mph(88ft/sec) on a road.  The nano takes 14 seconds to accelerate to 43mph.   Do you see the potential for disaster?   Getting hit in the Nano would probably be like getting hit on a Goldwing (they weigh about the same).  Except in the Nano, your stuck in a crushed metal cage.  It would never pass the Crash test ratings.  Cherry has a better chance of taking a market share in the USA, but even they will have a hard time (meeting the standards isnt ok.. You need to beat the standards for people to buy cars)

We all complain about gas prices, but people still buy SUVs, Pick Ups ect.  There are the select few who buy the foreign cars, the hybrids.  I think Americans need to curb their addiction to oil (and we will) but its going to be at a cost of US auto makers, unless they do something, and quickly at that.

As for Ford, Hopefully they will invest more heavily in hybrids, CNG vehicles, (hydrogen is a good idea, but not practical right now in the USA)

Yep, the Nano would never be street legal in the US. As for Ford, I'll probably see their bankruptcy filings before I'm 30.

Maybe not the Nano, but something to compete with the Smart cars in urban areas (and hopefully half the cost) might be neat.   They are getting relatively popular in some cities.

Good thing you jsut got in at $6. I was in F for a while, and had nothing but trouble. I ended up getting out ok, but it's dropped a lot since then. I do see it rising in the long term, but it will be a while. They've got to get their act together.

I sold 25% of my position at the close today.  I'm hoping to be able to buy them again around $5.25 before the end of april.

close friday @ $6.49 I still see this as really undervalue.
I think they have been quite on the future of their company as it helps
them get better deals with alliances with other companys.
I still would like to see a new mustang on the market that was green
    like the new fisker  http://www.fiskerautomotive.com/
check out this car it is hot. (Cars are my weekness sorry:})
how about a 1970 Mach 1 Twister  made with the new composit that the boeing dreamliner
is made of? liteweight and good looking. Made in the good ole USA.
the power can come from quantum qtww yes i own shares in that also.
who knows maybe someone at Ford will see this and think it is a good idea...
have a great weekend.. be safe.

On the daily charts there was a nice pop in volume on March 20th that I think traders are buying into.  It looks like it's been bouncing off the 50 day MA and I would suspect some heavy selling around there.

On the monthly charts I would like to see volume around 1.5B with a positive candle before I open a position.

Technically I think the stock is setting up for a pop in the near future but the fundamentals are not there for anything longer than a short term play.  I'm sure it'll be some kind of mildly promising good news that sets it off while the rest of it's sector is already on the rise.
