I went to the website and viewed the info on this product. i did not read or hear a claim that the engine would never need an oil change, just that the life of the oil could be increased to about 30k to 50k in stead of the 3k to 5k change intervals now required. i truely would love to see this in action. what they have done is removed alot of the negative sideffects of the auto engine: heat, friction, pumping loss, and rotating mass. most of the emissions that are exhausted from cars does not come from the burning of gas but the oil that is burned from the need to lubricate the valvetrain. inaddition, would eliminate the need for crank case ventilation to help the oil drain into the bottom end of the engine. the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve eliminates pressure in the engine allowing the oil to drain and pump better. this is accomplished by placing vacuum onto the PCV valve and the valve is place some where on the valve cover. oil then enters the engine when extreme heat is applied to the head causing the oil to for a simple word vaporize then it is sucked into the intake and burned in the combustion chamber poof carbon build up and high emisions thus furthur reducing the effiency of the engine. the PCV Valve was intoduced in the late 60's as an emissions device. oil also seeps in through the valve stem seals. the valve is a moving part and needs a sertain amount of clearance to function. if you have ever had a car that smoked when you first start it this is a sign that the seals are bad a larger emount of oil is getting through into the combustion chamber.  to further reduce emissions, eliminating the the conventional valvetrain can greatly increase the preformance of an engine by reducing the rotating mass and the friction needed to move these parts can lead to significant power gains and increased mileage. less work reqiures less enery. also, all of these factors reduce the largest problem with engines is heat. excessive heat can lead to pre-ignition that pinging all the gas companies talk about on T.V., so to reduce the pinging static compression ratios have to be lowered. when the compression ratios are lowered the gas used will now not be burned completely and when gas is not properly burned will increase the emissions produced. this is a subject that a thesis could be written. however, by eliminating these factors the oil used to lube the bottom end will last much longer when it is not exposed to these factors. if one was to put Mobil one or similar synthetic oil you might not need to change the oil for 100k miles. i hope this was helpful.
