The Zecco Inside Scoop

Why Pink?

A lot of people have asked me why on earth we picked pink as our company color. Shouldn’t we have gone with green, the color of money? Or blue or red, the old financial institution stand-bys? Absolutely not! After a lot of soul searching, we decided those old-school colors couldn’t capture the true Zecco spirit.

We picked pink because it’s different. And that’s what Zecco is - different. We have a different vision, a different approach, a different innovative platform. We’re about transparency, not hidden fees. We’re about empowering investors with new sources of information, not the same old stuff everyone else offers. And through Zecco Trading, we’re about enabling investors to build a diversified stock portfolio without having commissions eat away at their returns.

Plus, the color pink is often associated with springtime and optimism; and those of us that work at Zecco have an optimistic view of our growing company. We truly believe that Zecco will change the face of the online investing world and we’re working around the clock to make that vision a reality. No, we aren’t your average, boring, stuffy financial institution - if you want that, you’ll have to go to Merrill or Smith Barney - and our company color isn’t boring either. So if you ask me, pink is the new blue. And Zecco is the new generation of online investing. Go pink!

Speaking of colors, I’m seeing orange these days. I went back to the Netherlands, where I was born, for a bunch of meetings with our shareholders and it just so happened my trip coincided with Queen’s Day. I’m guessing most of you have never heard of Queen’s Day, but in the Netherlands it’s a huge national holiday. It’s the celebration of the Queen’s birthday (to be precise, the Birthday of our previous Queen, the mother of the present Queen, simply because the weather is normally better around her birthday than the current Queen’s birthday).

It is recognized as a day of togetherness and national unity. Everyone crowds the streets for a day of major partying dressed in, you got it, orange. Why orange? The Dutch Royal family is called the House of Orange-Nassau, so we all break out our best tangerine tees in honor of our Queen. So "Vrolijke Koninginnedag" (Happy Queen's Day) everyone! Have a great week!

The pink caught my eye! Its not stuffy and suites my needs perfectly! I like Zecco it has community feel giving a novice trader like me user-friendly site with substantial trading tools that doesn’t overwhelm me. That is why I chose Zecco…. keep up the great work.

Agreed - it's a hot color and attention-getting, though according to wikipedia, the color is actually "shocking pink" (or magenta) - not true pink. Maybe it would help to refer to it as "Magenta" for those skiddish of anything pink.

I was also going to say magenta (or fuschia) but someone beat me to it.   It's not really pink.  However, the site needs a 2nd minor color because, despite the "shocking" color, it looks dull.  Maybe something a little more masculine to offset the magenta i.e. kelly green or royal blue.

Jeroen,

Did you take into consideration that many, potential clients, seeing the colour scheme of Zecco dot com--for the 1st time--might mistake the brokerage for a 'pink sheets' only outpost?

Pink looks attractive but I joined Zecco because of free trades offer. No body do this, and I I think that makes Zecco different from others, not the Pink. I wish if Zecco extends this offer to unlimited free trades for people who bring in $50,000 or more and do minimum 10 trades a month.
Thanks

"Pink is ... Pink" wrote a soldier on the suggestions board at a 3 story underground facility. You see the commander had decide she would add some color to the doom N gloom gray and thought she would use some of these pastel colors (pshyclogical)! She received a lot of negative feedback and was not happy about it. Her boss (General) had her change those colors a week later on a visit! Hey, the ZECCO colors look good - I don't mind, but there is what I remember from a web site design course and that is some 90% of males are colorblind to red and this pink, fuschia is just that a devrivative on the color scale/prism of red. S may you be leaving some folks behind based on this?

Pink is the new blue!!  I love it.

Go Pink!

Personally, I am not very concerned if it is Pink or Blue or Black.  As long as Zecco continues to improve the product, and keep their fee's low.  I am very happy!  I will continue to bring more and more Zeccotians on board this ship.
