I agree too. Its on the high side for a monthly fee especially for the long term investors and the newbies.

Hopefully the amazing team at Zecco can configure a creative and cost-effective solution.

my wife has a Scotstrade acct and she does not pay extra for her quickstream. if it weren't for the $7.5 a trade fee, i'd probably switch.

Newbies should expect to pay a little for the useful tools of the trade (the internet is FULL of free advice); long-termers shouldn't be worried about what is happening right this moment, pick a strategy and stick with it.

Think about it... If having this tool helps you make hundreds per month, then why are you crying about the tens that it costs you? If it isn't useful, then don't use it.

I just checked out the software platform offered by thinkorswim.com. Not realtime but tons of features and the price can't be beat -- FREE!

It's free trading! The great folks at Zecco shouldn't be expected to give everything to the esurient! Or should they? I heard Yahoo has free streaming in their finacial section but don't know how accurate it is.

I have a regular IRA account with Scottrade and they offer a free real-time streamer where you can create a lot more portfolios/watch list ( i think I have 25 already and counting) with a max of 20 symbols per portfolio. I don't see the advantage of this unless it's free. Does the QuoteGrid provide you a real-time portfolio tracker where you can see your stock holdings and equity (including profit/loss values) change in real time? If I were you, save the $120/year and open an account with Scottrade with an initial $500 which you don't have to maintain (once it's set, withdraw the money and leave $1). Then you get a free real-time streamer. Scottrade offers the following at ZERO cost:

Annual account maintenance -No charge
Inactive account -No charge
Transfer out/account closing -No charge
IRA termination -No charge
Online confirmations and statements -No charge
Dow Jones Real-Time News -No charge
Real-time streaming quotes and charts -No charge
Cost basis accounting -No charge
Incoming/Outgoing Direct Registration System -No charge
Direct Withdrawal at Custodian -No charge

Now if Zecco offers the above features, then their Streamer may be worth it but since they've taken away 30 free trades from us and raised the minimum required to get free trades plus charging us $30 annually in our IRA to keep our money so they can use it and make money, they shouldn't be charging their customers for this. At the very least, it (and the GainsKeeper for that matter) should be free for the first 5 days every month or if you meet a minimum equity (say $5000). If Zecco keeps charging for all their services, why even call it zero commission costs? If they want to be the cheapest broker out there, they should at least meet or beat their competitor's prices or at least offer these features for free but with certain conditions, i.e equity requirement, trade requirement, account requirement (must have both regular and IRA account to qualify), etc. If they do this, it's guaranteed that they will have more customers.

If you keep a certain minimum balance requirement, the streaming
quotes should be free. I have another account with Just2Trade and
with $2500 minimum you get free streaming quotes and free Level 2.
Deals are out there if you look for them.

Why would you want me to leave your site to get other services when I'm already here? I know you have to make money somewhere but, you've got a captive audience.
Attention spans are extremely short, why tempt someone to view another's free service and chance getting lured away by an all-in-one service?
That's just penny-wise and pound foolish.

This platform is not working. The market data are delayed for 15 minutes, what is for real trader unusable. It should be for free like a trial version.

Just for you guys and girls at Zecco this is typical of all too
good to be true brokers. I came to Zecco because I could trade
30 or 40 free trades per month then it was $2.95 per trade. I
used to belong to Suretrade which had $3 trades and also to
another small broker with $1 trades. No frills but saved big
money on each trade. Both companies were bought out. I learned
early on that fees and commissions can eat you alive. Zecco will
most likely be bought out. I also try to find a cheaper broker
to execute most of my trades but keep Ameritrade because it has
good content. Do this: Download Medved Quote Tracker for free
and you will get FREE LIVE QUOTES,CHARTS AND MANY OTHER THINGS
I DON'T USE. I have been using it for years. You can create
unlimited portfolios with 60 or 80 stocks per portfolio. I have a Financial port.,a Gas/Oil port. etc. I have live tick by tick
quotes for several stocks and ETFs. Quote Tracker uses other
sources to get the quoutes. That is why I have an Ameritade
account because it will allow hundresa of real time quotes
where Scottrade only allows 30. Give it a try. I couldn't
trade without it & it is FREE. They also offer a pay site.
