Zecco Takes Home Two Top Honors

The past few days have been pretty good for Zecco.  On Monday, we were kindly chosen as the best online broker from the great readers of the Five Cent Nickel blog (see coverage here).  It’s a huge honor to beat out competitors like Scottrade and E*Trade as people's favorites.

Then yesterday, several of us went to the Finovate Conference in San Francisco where financial services companies gave five-minute demo presentations to the audience.  The lineup was formidable, including many other amazing companies like Buxfer, Cake Financial, CAPS, Credit Karma, Diversinet, Expensr, First ROI, FindABetterBank, Jwaala, Loanio, Mint, Prosper, SimpleTuition, SmartyPig, SmartHippo, SocialPicks, Sparkroom, TradeKing, Vestopia, Wesabe, Wonga, Zopa and 3 more still in stealth.

And the best part?  The audience selected Zecco as their favorite of the bunch!

So thank you to everyone who voted for us!  And stay tuned for more and more improvements coming up.

From what I've seen so far this was well earned.

But, as a former E*Trade client, I do have to say that you're being quite charitable. Their treatment of small account holders and those that don't make huge numbers of trades per quarter was just shameful.

You've all probably noticed that the market has been faring fairly well these past four weeks. The dollar is gaining traction again. The jobless claims report that came out last Friday was better than expected with just 20,000 jobs slashed in April as

Just a Suggestion:
In the Trading Center, Positions and/or the Watch List, symbols
that are listed are clickable to give more detailed of real time
quotes. Two improvements could be done here:
1. in the quotes popup menu that lists ask/bid etc., if both the
ask size and bid size are added this gives more insight of the
  current potential trade.

2. If besides each symbol listed, a NEWS icon/link added, that
gives the most recent news related to that stock: it will
definitely help in making the trading decision right from
that place. Currently, I'm using other web pages with my other
brokerage accounts and from various web resources to do an
  educated trading decision.

Thanks for all the good work with the ZECCO environment.

ZECCO has been nice...
but, if i could make one suggestion,
my brother trades with one of your new competitors,
just2trade.com, and they have one twist that ZECCO
should consider.

On one screen, he can enter 3 price points at one time,

limit buy, stop loss, limit sell

Once the limit buy occurs,
the stop loss and limit sell are both in effect at the same time.
This way, we could go off to our "real" jobs and not be surprised
with huge losses when we get home.

Currently, we have to choose between having a stop loss or a limit sell in effect. Having both in effect at the same time would be great. I hope you consider it.

Thx,
HecVille

Lose the Java script and fancy fading effects.
Lose the animated advertisements.
Make a one-stop login and account selection - let me get to where I want to go ASAP!
This might make your pages load in less than a minute (happens everywhere for me - at home and at work).

In short: redesign your website to be useful to those who trade and save the commercials for potential new customers. (The edit box I enter this in is wider than the window it's in - a common occurence on your site. Not good!)

Agree: add bid and ask sizes - this is crucial information for a decision to trade.

The pages showing details on options fail to mention the expiration date and strike price!? Not good.

Hey everyone - thanks for the feedback.

@HecVille, I've passed along that idea to Frank, our Director of Trading Products.  It sounds like a great idea that could make life a little simpler for everyone.

@Roxy_A, also good feedback.  Hearing the specific things you all are interested in helps us prioritize our development roadmap - you're all making a difference!

Thanks,

I agree with Roxy.  I also use TradeKing.com for the time being, and every component of their website loads much faster than Zecco.  Roxy's suggestions would help a lot!
