themoneyman - I've invested in alternative energy plays mainly to ride the momentum. YGE and SOLF would be my top performers. However, 1 energy play I've been looking at for many months is The Southern Company (NYSE:SO) Good long-term play with a fair dividend yield. The corporate site posted an article on how they're working on producing cleaner coal. Clean(er) energy is the way of the future.

addybhai - Market forecasting is a weakness of mine but I agree with the mainstream analysts that predict a turnaround nearing the 2nd quarter of 2009. Then again, even the experts get it wrong too. We just need to be on alert and look for news that can change the way we currently see the troubled sectors. For example, in the financials, I can't wait to see, "Citi to report no further writedowns." News like this could spark the turnaround we've all been longing for.
