Don't look now, but Amazon(
AMZN.NAS) might be the next super stock of the Dot-Com world. Yes, they already made it through the first dot-com bubble and emerged as the worlds leading online bookseller. Then they start adding on other items. Grocery being their latest big hit.
Then they started branching out to someplace completely out of the ordinary. They started renting dynamic server space and processing power to budding internet entrepreneurs. And those entrepreneurs took them seriously and are using the service. Surprised? I doubt that Bezos is. He's always had a pretty keen ear to the buzz and seems to spot most of the emerging trends and takes advantage of the ones he has the ability to.
That combined with the 118% increase year over year in profit last quarter and you've got yourself a burgeoning super stock. Not quite a $500 a share GOOG type of superstock, but certainly something worth picking up. They closed at their new 52 week high of $74.72 somewhere around May and came up by over $20 after earnings in March. Heck they're up by over $3 today.
Best part about that? There's still room for growth. If their profit jumps like it did last year, it could very easily hit the $100-$120 range. Couple more quarters of the same? We could see a $150 stock and potentially a split. Not a bad buy at $72 eh? Keep a close eye on it, but I'd buy up to about $85.
