Swing Man Market Recap:
It was a wild day for the market: the market sold off first thing in the morning, but then quickly recovered and rallied. The market pulled back again, but formed a higher low around noon. Then the Philly FED was released and reported a boom in manufacturing as their index rose from 4.2 to 18.0. The highest it has been since April 2005. Areading of zero in that index indicates no growth. The market rallied strongly on the Philly Fed, then pulled back one more time, only to push up end of the day to close near the highs. At the close the SPX/DOW were 0.50% higher, and the NDX/NAZ rose 0.80%. However the index that really stood out was the SOX (semiconductor Index), which rallied 3% for the day, far outpacing all the other indexes
The S&P 500 rallied right off the 50 day MA support - see the swing man section:
However, I noticed on all the indexes that the 15 and 60 min charts look a little tired and almost bear flagish. Therefore don't be too aggressive here. See chart in the Swing Man Section
However, the one index that really stood out was the SOX, which rallied 3% for teh day; far outpacing all the other indexes. The SOX broke the recent high, however it is starting to get a little extended on the 60 min chart.
The 60 min chart of the SOX looks like it is completing a mini 5 wave pattern and the recent high was divergent, therefore I wouldn't be surprised to see a little weakness in the short term.
Swing Trades:
APOL looks great; nice ascending triangle with resistance at 49.75.
TTEC looks like a great swing trade with a stop at 31.55 and a possible target of 36.5
ACTG looks like a great swing trade that has both good fundamentals as well as technicals. Breakout is 14.85, target is 16.5.
