Boeing's (BA) earnings report had a couple of hiccups - namely higher R&D projections for 2007, higher cost of building the Dreamliner on time and a charge for early termination of a broadband contract.
However, the discount given to us by the market after these earnings bore fruition as Airbus fell casualty to FedEx's impatience over its delays. Indeed the U.S. based delivery company on Nov 7th announced an order for 15 Boeing Co. 777's worth US$3.5 billion at catalog prices, blaming the A380 holdups for its decision - something I had expected and informed readers about back on October 22, 2006.
In addition, Boeing received another order for its 777 just last week, a deal which is worth $3.7 billion, along with a $900 million order from Aeromexico and a US Military order for its helicopters valued at over $600 million.
I would own this one for a while. Emirates might be next to ditch Airbus. For now, sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.
