I went to Best Buy for a shiny new laptop today and was shocked, appalled and amazed (and not necessarily in that order) that most of the laptops on display had an AMD chip. This is quite a shift from just a few months back when Intel was the processor of choice. Gateway, HP and Toshiba - all of these brands had more AMD merchandise. So I marched over to Circuit City and lo and behold, the same phenomena became apparent there.
Couple this observation with the stock price behavior of AMD today and maybe there is a trend change in the works. Keep in mind that I am not making a recommendation on the stock here.

Full Disclosure: I do not own AMD but my position can change anytime without notice.
